Tomatoes Star in OCC’s Annual Spring Plant Sale

Joe Stead, coordinator of OCC's horticulture lab, prepares flowering baskets for the Spring Home Plant Sale.With 2,500 veggie plants, including 30 varieties of tomato, backyard gardeners will find a plentiful selection of vegetables and flowers in five-and-a-half-inch pots, at Orange Coast College Horticulture Department’s spring plant sales on Fridays, April 16 through May 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Horticulture Garden Nursery near the campus’ Adams parking lot.
Plants include bell and chili peppers, squash, cucumbers, basil and 14-inch parsley bowls that will produce for a year or more. The sale will also offer scaevola baskets; mixed-color baskets and double impatiens.

When: Fridays, April 16, April 23, April 30 and May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Horticulture Garden Nursery, Orange Coast College, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.
Parking: Enter campus from Adams Avenue parking lot. The nursery is located on the western edge of campus, near the Technology Center.
